inher eventually dangerously. >> lawmakers say they reached a compromise on a bill that would -- the father of the boy's attack that led to that said it's a compromise that's aimed at protecting dogs instead of people. >> under the terms of the new bill you would be liable if your dog bites someone but you would also be able to defend yourself in court if you believe the dog -- the victim provoked the dog. it has the support of leaders in the house, delegates and state senate. >> it's fair to victims, fair to landlords and fair to pet owners. >> but tony -- said it's not fair. his son was mauled so severely that doctors did not expect him to survive. but he did and the lawsuit against the owner and the

owner's landlord made it all the way to the maryland's court of appeal. the court ruled that pit bulls are inherently dangerously. tried to overturn that ruling and led to another lawsuit by pit bull owners who did not want to be evicted and also did not want to give up their dogs. charles edwards represents 3 of those owners. >> waswe wanted the liability for the pit bull to be abolished. >> and he says the new compromise bill does do that. his lawsuit would be dropped if it passes but tony seles ski believes that would put more kids like his son in danger. >> the idea that we're going to return for that, with dog owners it just undermines the whole philosophy of how are

and now, maryland's most accurate forecast. just like the ravens this weekend. take a look at the south and east this weekend. we had inside the state of maryland, it's coming down here along the lower eastern shore. but in particular, here in virginia, richmond ended up being where the core of the snow was going. skirting a little further south than anticipated. looking close to home here, princess ann, salisbury and ocean city, also extending all the way down to the southern end of the state and also just a little bit of wintery shower action toward sullivan's island. where was the big action today winter weather wise? out of roanoke virginia coming

down, a winter wonder land down there. maryland skier? plenty of fresh powder on the slopes. but close to home, it's dry. no sledding to be had. humidity is moderate and winter advisory just about done but what we have left for the south western corner, dorchester county down toward princess ann, just a few blue shaded areas in our area and a winter weather advisory on the edge of that. temperature wise, not really cold enough to support anything sticking and as we look farther south and east we do see this line. that's going to be moving out through the overnight hours and that dryer air would help to prevent that storm from moving further north in the situation.
